Bernard:

My brother Rex of Maple Grove, MN send me your link. This is really cool and long past due. I seldom get back to Kensal anymore, but I will try to get a picture of my dad (George) and grandfathers (Stanley) blacksmith shop. The building is still there, I believe Wendell Simonsen bought it. I remember the old fire hall had some city pictures of Kensal hanging on the wall. You may also want to contact Herman as he is one of the last ones that would have information on Kensal's amateur baseball team from the 1940's. Herman's email is hjkulla@daktel.com. I think my brother Rex has some pages that Pete wrote down about the team also. They were known as one of the toughest teams in North Dakota and put Kensal on the map. Somewhere I have a picture of the team, if I run across it I can scan a copy. If not, there are others around in our family. When I saw the picture of the country school kids I knew I had seen it before. As you know, my grandmother, Francis Pitra, was the teacher. I still remember spending a couple of days there when not yet attending school in Kensal. It's kind of fuzzy but I also remember a Christmas program.
